Insurance Trends: How Preparing for Open Enrollment and

How COVID Has Affected Insurance

Presenter: Michael Knize, Director of Employee Benefits for McAnally Wilkins Insurance

Covid-19 has not only affected individuals, but it is having a profound impact on businesses across the country.  There are stories published every day and many contradict one another creating uncertainty and an inability to make educated decisions about what is best for you and your employees.  Michael will be discussing the effect of Covid on medical cost trends, but also the pros, cons and latest information on vaccine mandates and premium surcharges.  There are a lot of questions and not a lot of answers right now, at least not a lot of consistent answers.  This presentation will provide support and resources to help you develop the best plan of action for your company.

 Speaker Biography:

Michael Knize is the Director of Employee Benefits for McAnally Wilkins Insurance.  Leading a department within an agency with a long history of focus on the oilfield, Michael has worked with his team to develop services that cater to a specific demographic of employee and employer, blue collar.  Group health insurance has long been known as a complicated structure that is impossible to decipher.  Michael looks to “pull back the curtain” for his clients and break down medical costs and insurance premiums to help them take control of their spend and the benefits provided to their employees.

Michael has devoted himself to studying medical trends and analyzing healthcare costs.  He gains from the real-life experiences of his many fully insured, self-funded and captive insurance clients.  His goal is to find ways to provide actionable data and assist his clients in creating solutions.
