PBSHRM Speakers & Sponsors

The Programs Committee for Permian Basin Society of Human Resource Management (PBSHRM) would like to invite you to submit a ​ presentation​  proposal to present a 1-hour presentation (to include 5 to 10 minutes Q&A) at one of our monthly meetings that run from January through December.  We also ask if you would like to be considered as a speaker for our HR Back to Work Summit on August 11, 2021, please submit an interest as well.  Your presentation at the summit can be longer that 1-hour if preferred.  ​Presentation Proposals  are asked to be submitted in writing (electronic form) using the form below.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Meeting Content:

We strive to make our meetings interactive and dynamic, and we expect our speakers to actively engage our members in dialogue about the content as opposed to a one-way presentation. Interactive discussion during dinner often includes a speaker-led discussion as a prelude to the main presentation.  A key factor in meeting evaluations is the extent to which the topic and presentation was appropriate to the ongoing development needs of HR executives.  We want our members to feel that the content they receive at ​PBSHRM  meetings is not readily available anywhere else. Continuing education in strategic business management is designed to help make a greater contribution to an organization’s success. Here are examples of activities or course topics that we consider for ​SHRM or HRCI credit:  

    • technological developments
    • current economic environment
    • ​Employment Law Topics​
    • labor pool/demographic trends
    • strategic planning at the organizational level
    • corporate social responsibility/governance/ethics
    • due diligence for mergers and acquisitions​
    • developing metrics to measure HR's contributions
    • integrating technology into HR applications
    • establishing leadership-development systems tied to organizational goals

Benefits and Your Audience:

In general, our monthly meetings include a diverse mix of HR professionals from generalists to senior professionals in HR, to consultants working for companies or owning their own businesses, and business-related vendors.  Because of our small size, speaking engagements are not paid as we are a non-profit educational group.  We can discuss possible assistance with the cost of travel, etc.  However, you are exposed to over 50 HR professionals at the meeting and more members on our website.  In addition, you are encouraged to come early and participate in our networking event.  And, of course, your luncheon fee is waived.

Programs Objective:

Our objective is to define HR’s critical role in Developing Business Strategies.  Topics that might address this theme are numerous and may include developing trends in technology, communication, employee retention and satisfaction, strategic planning, leadership and vision, change management, employment law and so on.

Program Days/Times:

Our monthly meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month. The length of each speaker session is one hour from 11:30am to 1:00 pm.

​Community Outreach Moment:  11:50 - 12:00 pm
​Program/Speaker:  12:00 - 1:00 pm
We invite the speaker to join us for the Networking and Luncheon that precedes the program presentation.
